I went running yesterday. To some people, that's hardly worth any news; but to me, this is a quite liberating experience. See, I went running because I wanted to; not because I had to. I'm trying to lose some weight and get back in shape because I wanted to; not because I had to. For the past ten years or so, I've had to maintain a certain weight standard and run so far in so much time, but not now. I ran around the neighborhood for about 35 minutes and then walked for about 15. If I stopped to walk or took a break, it was okay! I didn't have anyone yelling in my ear to hurry it up and I didn't feel guilty about doing so. That simple action was just so... I feel relieved! I'm doing my physical activity at MY pace for ME; so that my jeans fit better and so that I can fit into that cute, little green top. I'm not trying to lose a million pounds or become a different person or anything extreme, but shedding the ten pounds I gained in the past four months will definitely be an improvement.
Another thing, as I was running, I thought about all those times that cocky guys would pass me and say, "I can walk faster than you run." Well, now, at 32 years old, I finally come up with a better comeback that the default Fuck You, "I can read faster than you!" Hahaha!
